THE EXPERIENCE & PARTNER FACULTY SCHEDULE

Each of our Partner Schools have the unique opportunity for a faculty or staff member attend the Academy Week on behalf of their school. In addition to attending the main stage events throughout the week to hear some of our latest thinking on Redemptive Entrepreneurship and hear from leading practitioners, we have curated a few experiences for a Faculty Track to enhance their learning.

Below is an overview of Academy Week. We know that some Faculty members may not be able to attend the full week, so we provided a key to indicate what we feel are critical sessions vs. important sessions. If a Faculty is unable to attend the whole week, the most optimal experience is Monday 7/29 (4pm) - Thursday 8/1 (12pm).

Once you have determined who will represent your school on the Faculty Track and which dates they will be there, we will ask them to register and submit their travel information so we know when to expect them on campus.

EVENT LOCATION & TRAVEL DETAILS

All Academy Week events are held on the beautiful campus of Biola University, located in La Mirada, CA — 30 miles south of Los Angeles.

LODGING

Partner School Faculty have 2 options for lodging which we will ask about in your On-Boarding Survey.

1. Campus Lodging (Included in your Partnership)

Included in your Partnership program is a room for on-campus housing in apartment style dorms (generally 2 rooms + 1 bathroom + common area in each suite). Suites are booked with double occupancy, meaning that you have your own room, but would share a bathroom with another Faculty member. Campus Lodging includes a clean set of linens, a pillow, and a towel. You should plan on bringing your own toiletries as well as additional items you may need such as a hairdryer, iron, etc..

2. Hotel or Lodging On Your Own

Faculty are welcome to stay off campus at your own expense. In addition, you will need to provide your own transportation to/from campus each day with this option. If you are interested in a nearby hotel, we recommend the Sheraton Cerritos.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION & AIRPORT SHUTTLES

Included in your Program is a seat on a shuttle from Los Angeles International (LAX) Airport to Biola on Monday and another from Biola to LAX at the conclusion of the event on Friday. If you would like to take advantage of the shuttles, you will need to book your flight within these time windows:

ARRIVAL FLIGHT WINDOW FOR PRAXIS SHUTTLES
Arrive at LAX by 1:00pm Pacific Time on Monday, July 29

DEPARTING FLIGHT WINDOW FOR PRAXIS SHUTTLES
Depart from LAX after 5:00pm Pacific Time on Friday, August 2

To claim your seat on the shuttle, simply book in those time windows and submit your travel plans in your On-Boarding Survey and we will follow up with details on where to find the shuttles.

If you are only attending for a portion of the Academy Week, or need to book your arrival or departing flight outside of those time windows, you will be responsible for your own ground transportation.

If you are renting your own car or driving on your own, details are below for Parking.

Meals, FOOD ALLERGIES, & DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

Meals are included in your Program during the Academy Week, starting with dinner on Monday and ending with lunch on Friday. In addition, we try to provide beverages and snacks to keep you energized and focused throughout the event. Biola does have a coffee and snack shop with limited hours where you can purchase additional food if you'd like.

For those with food allergies, sensitivities or dietary restriction please share the specifics in your On-Boarding Survey. While many of the meals will be offered in the Cafeteria where these needs can be met by communicating with the staff, we also have a few privately catered meals for Partner Faculty and we will work with the catering staff to accommodate your needs.

ACCESSIBILITY & MOBILITY

Please notify us through the On-Boarding Survey of any accessibility needs so that we can prepare a seamless experience for you. While we will be on campus for the duration of the event, there is a significant amount of moving between venues throughout each day.
